RAF Museum Cosford

Opened in 2007, the National Cold War Exhibition is one of the main highlights during a visit to the RAF Museum Cosford. Based on the Shropshire/Staffordshire border, Cosford is the only National Museum in the West Midlands and is home to one of the largest aviation collections in the UK.

There are over 70 aircraft on display within three wartime hangars and the National Cold War Exhibition. Our Visitor Centre is fashioned on a bi-plane and the eye catching glass fronted building is where staff will welcome you on arrival.

The aircraft on display are split into collections including experimental aircraft in Test Flight, War in the Air, National Cold War Exhibition and Transport & Training located in Hangar 1. Alongside the aircraft there are related exhibitions, an art gallery, memorabilia, uniforms and scale models.

Facilities on site include a gift shop, the Black Hawk flight simulator and 4D Experience motion rides. There are toilets in each building and the site is accessible with wide aisles and low level barriers ensuring excellent views of the exhibits. Refreshments can be purchased the Refuel Restaurant with hot meals and snacks on sale.

The RAF Museum is a great value day out for the whole family and best of all admission is free of charge!
