No 692 Squadron was formed at RAF Graveley on 1 January 1944 as a light bomber unit in No 8 (PFF) Group. It formed a part of the Light Night Striking Force. This was the first Mosquito squadron to carry 4000lb bombs. It disbanded on 20 September 1945.
